Michael J. Latterell is a graduate of Bemidji State University and joined PWB in 2006. In addition to his responsibilities as Director of the Tax group, Mike focuses on small to midsize businesses and their owners. His open and honest approach helps alleviate the stress business owners face when navigating the complexities of business taxation. Mike advises on tax matters as well as executive compensation, financial statement analysis, due diligence, and merger and acquisitions. In addition, Mike collaborates with clients on their personal financial & retirement planning, tax planning & projections, and personal financial statements.
Mike is a futurist to the core. He knows his clients want accurate returns that limit their tax liability and he delivers on this, while also insuring they look to the future and not focus solely on today. This same approach is evident in Mike’s admiration of Michael Jordan’s ability to parlay his athletic career into a successful business career. Perfecting a talent and then utilizing the same work ethic to build a new career inspires Mike to dream big with his clients.
A native of Bigfork, MN, Mike spends most of his free time in the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, and triathlons get him out of the office with fresh air in his lungs. It’s not uncommon for him to come back on Monday with a bruise or scrape as a badge of honor! Mike also enjoys traveling with family and is a Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
