For Kevin D. Whitaker, accounting is all about connections: connecting with clients, concepts and goals. He joined PWB in 2007 and spends much of his time nurturing the long-term, yearlong relationships he’s known for. Seeing a client for a quick meeting once a year is not his style! Kevin finds common ground and comes to know his clients on a personal level. This ongoing dialogue helps him better understand his clients’ needs and goals. Kevin builds trust with his clients because they know he sees the complete picture of their personal and business lives.
Kevin is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and the William Mitchell College of Law.
His legal training gives him the tools and perspectives to drill down into the details of an agreement or transaction. Kevin presents his analysis of complicated situations in understandable terms and together he and his clients plan a course of action.
Kevin enjoys the tremendous variety of challenging issues he tackles daily. His core specialties include tax consulting on equity compensation and accounting methods; multi-state income & sales tax consulting; tax provision and FIN 48 analysis; tax compliance for both public and private companies, including those with multi-state, as well as international operations and subsidiaries.
Kevin and his wife have a college-aged son. Vacations are spent near the ocean or on a mountain. When he’s ready to have fun near home, you’ll find Kevin riding a waverunner in Twin Cities lakes or golfing when the leaves begin to fall.
